Ways To Clean Gas Stoves and Some Tips To Do

Few kitchen items are used as frequently as a gas stove. It collects dirt, dust, food, liquid overflow, grease splatters, and other debris. A dirty, oily range may be difficult to light, impact your cooking, and pose a fire threat – none of which you need around the holidays.

A few easy procedures are required to clean the stovetop. This is how you do it.

  • Gather your materials and remove the stovetop’s grates and burners.
  • At this point, wipe away any dry particles without scrubbing.
  • Soak the grates and burns in soapy water using a few drops of dish soap.
  • Examine the fuel ports on the burners to check if they are clogged. If they are, clean and unclog them with the brush. Clogged burners are a safety hazard in the kitchen, which is why this is critical.
  • It’s time to clean the stove! Scrub it clean with a sponge dipped in a few drops of dish soap. Squeeze off the liquid in circular motions and add dish soap in drips. Don’t soak for too long because too much will flood the fuel ports, causing you to wait until it dries out.
  • Rinse the stovetop and sponge to complete the cleaning process. To conclude, rinse with water and dry with a kitchen towel.

Other Simple Tips to Clean Your Gas Stove

Tip #1

Make a paste of vinegar and baking soda. Remove the grates and burner caps and place them in a large sink. To remove the oily film, first, wash in a slightly diluted solution of liquid dish detergent with a non-abrasive sponge. Remove the water from the sink. Then, make a paste using one part vinegar, two parts baking soda, and a few drops of dish soap. Apply the paste on the grates and caps. Allow the mixture to settle for at least 20 minutes before sponging off the softened food. Thoroughly rinse.

Tip #2:

  • Soak in ammonia.
  • Remove the grates and burner tops and place them in separate, sealable plastic bags (or a covered plastic dish) with 14 cups of household ammonia.
  • Let them sit overnight, sealed (at least 8 hours). The filth should wash away the pieces in the morning with a soapy sponge.

Set clean grates and burner caps aside to dry while the remainder of the stovetop is cleaned.

Tip #3

To clear ports, use a paper clip or a safety pin. After wiping down the heads with a damp (but not wet) towel to remove food particles, use the pointed end of a paper clip or safety pin to remove food particles that can obstruct gas flow from ignition ports (holes). Wipe the liberated particles away with a wet towel. Finish with a moderate vinegar scrape to remove oil and stains.

Tip #4

Clean up crumbs. If you have a vacuum, quickly remove loose crumbs or food particles from the stove surface.

Tip #5

The hot towel mask. Wring out a dish towel after it has been wet. Warm up the moist towel in the microwave for 30 seconds. When taking the heated cloth from the range, use caution. Apply the heated towel to any areas where there is cooked food. Cooked-on food should be loosened and easily wiped away once the towel has cooled.

Tip #6

Use Salt as a Temporary Fix. Cleaning a range with salt is quick, inexpensive, and simple. “Occasionally, there may be leaks from the meal you’re cooking on the range’s surface during baking,” he explains.
