Although there are many types of washers available, you will notice that your washing machine won’t spin. When this happens, it will be unable to do its purpose, which is to wash a load of clothes through the machine.

Nowadays, you can find different appliance brands that offer incredible appliances, like Samsung. They are known for their top-quality kitchen and home appliances and their durability. One of the appliances that many homeowners check into is the washing machine which also provides a lot of convenience in doing the laundry and saving more time to do other tasks.

However, even a durable appliance will also need proper maintenance. But, it will come to the point that it will also need to be repaired due to some of its parts having already worn out because of frequent usage. When this happens, you will be able to encounter several issues with your appliance where the washing machine won’t spin. Finding a repair company that can do quality and effective laundry appliance repair is best.

Here are things you can do when your washing machine is not spinning:

Redistribute The Load Of Laundry

An unbalanced load of laundry is one of the common causes of an inadequate spin cycle of the machine. There are times when the items can settle on one side of the drum only, throwing off the motion of the appliance.

Level The Washer

If positioned unevenly on its adjustable pedestal, the washing machine won’t be able to spin properly. Check out for other signs of an unlevel machine, such as excess noise and vibration during the cycle. If confirmed, adjust each of the individual legs higher or lower until the washing machine is completely level.

Check The Power Source

Given the possible cause, always make sure to check the washing machine to see if it is properly plugged in. a mid-cycle bump or a slight jiggle can happen due to the plug working its way out of the outlet and replugging it might put back the washer working. You might also want to check for circuit breaker trips.

Inspect The Spin Switch

If you use a top-load washer, a small bump on the underside of the lid turns off the switch when you close the lid as a safety measure to detect when the lid is closed. If the bump has been bent or deformed, it may not trigger the switch’s function. Open the lid, select the spin cycle, and manually turn it off. If the washing machine starts spinning normally, re-bend the bump so it triggers the spin switch properly.

Undo Any Kink In Its Hose

This can cause the water to flow to and from the washing machine resulting in the appliance starting the spin cycle but being unable to pick up the speed and doesn’t drain the water. Make sure to pull out the washing machine and check behind it and check that the hose is kink-free. Carefully push the machine back to its place, so you do not inadvertently crimp the hose again.

If still, the washing machine doesn’t work, you may then consider asking for assistance from a professional appliance repair company to properly troubleshoot the appliance issue.
